Plant : Hygrophia Difformis (Water Wisteria)

Scientific name: Hygrophia Difformis
Synonym: Synnema Triflorum
Common name: Water Wisteria
Origin: India, Thailand, Malaysia
How to: This unusually shaped aquarium plant does well in bright light and looks best when kept in well-spaced groups of four or five stems. The leave shape is dictated by aquarium temperature; at lower temperatures the leaves are thicker and smaller, at higher temperatures they are larger and more divided. The leaves are large - up to 4 in (10cm) long - so adequate space is a must. If the plants received too little light, the lower leaves may drop off and the spacing between the leaves increases.
Maximum Height: 20 in (50 cm)
Growth rate: Medium
Area: Background
Light: Bright to Strong
Temperature: 72 - 82 °F (24 -28 °C)
Propagation: From cuttings and side shoots
Difficulty: 2 - click for more about difficulty level
